Estate and Trust Administration

When a person dies, their estate needs to be administered. I represent administrators and executors of estates and trustees of trusts. Careful attention to my clients’ duties are paramount and taken very seriously. Guiding my clients through the process from beginning to end requires skill and immediate attention to court filings and petitions to be filed with the Surrogate’s Courts, tax consequences, and beneficiaries’ (persons or entities who have an interest in the will or trust). I also represent beneficiaries of wills or trusts and advocate for them in all aspects of the life of the case. I have represented beneficiaries in their legal proceedings to reclaim assets that should have been part of the estate or trust, remove the executor, administrator or trustee of the estate or trust, eject persons who do not have a right to reside in the real property owned by the estate or the trust. I work with the Attorney General of New York and New Jersey in estate and trust proceedings to gain their consent on behalf of beneficiaries who are charities.
