Jill H. Teitel has a practice that spans over 20 years. After several years working in the government and at other firms, in 2011 she formed her private practice. She has worked both as an advocate as Special Counsel to the Assistant Corporation Counsel at the New York City Administration for Children’s Services and later as a Court Attorney-Referee for the Kings County Surrogate’s Court.
Ms. Teitel has dedicated her career to insightful counsel and strategic advocacy for her clients. Her focus on families integrates critical practice areas and skills to ensure that each unique family can receive the representation they need to protect and care for themselves. Her clients appreciate that she looks at the big picture, offering advice and solutions that take into account the many legal complexities of today’s family.
Her passion lies in the area of Alternative Reproductive Technologies (ART), making it her mission to advocate for customers and patients of ART and provide counsel and legal assistance to them. She regularly works to educate and function as a resource for all families that have been affected by the negative consequences of ART. As an estate planning lawyer, she encourages all of her clients with gametic material or embryos in storage to write their last wills and testaments, as this is the best way to protect their biological material.
Jill is a public speaker in the areas of ART, trusts and estates, and mediation. Her writings are published in the fields of ART, trusts and estates, mediation, arbitration, contracts, business organizations, and secured transactions in the United States and internationally.
